Case Studies
Studio 6 – Lloyds TSB Staff Training video:
The client asked IS Media to put together a staff training video at very short notice following a conference to launch a new Wealth Management product. The difficulty was that the new product was presented to the audience at the conference with accompanying video footage, but of course there was not presenter footage. Two options were put forward by IS Media to solve the problem. Firstly to add a voice over to the existing footage, as there was no time to film a lot of new footage. Secondly to script a piece to camera for the Chief Executive to read, added to a series of graphics and text that could be done in house. IS Media made themselves available to film the Chief Executive at any time and did so in London, after travelling early and having to wait nearly 3 hours to get a slot in his diary – it was time critical that we got the piece.
IS Media then edited the footage in house, had 2000 vhs copies produced and distributed to a central distribution point in time for delivery to the branches for the launch events in branch.
Reed Business Information – Pod casts/ Web casts
IS Media run b2b conferences all over the world for RBI. As there is a lot of important information presented at these conferences and the delegates have no way of keeping all the information unless they write it all down as it is presented IS Media were asked for a solution. IS Media put forward two solutions. Firstly to record all the audio of the presentations and then to duplicate CD-Roms for all delegates to take away with them at the end of each conference.Additionally as the audio had been recorded it could then be transferred to a format to be uploaded to the RBI web site for pod casting to those delegates that wished to use this rather than the CD-Rom, or who only had access to the internet. Also this offered those professionals that could not attend the opportunity to hear the vital information from the conference. This also gave RBI the opportunity to package up their pod casts for purchase, as the information in this sector is very valuable.
Finally IS Media have also offered to video pod cast these conferences, or to web cast live, integrating speaker slides and speaker visual and audio on split screen. This also offers RBI the opportunity to generate further sponsorship income.
Clerical Medical Conference Film:
Clerical Medical had been through many changes, both from a legislative point of view and from a company point of view. At their annual conference they wanted to communicate a positive message to engage the audience to make them realise that despite all the changes they had achieved a lot.
IS Media persuaded the client not to just let the MD stand in front of slides and video on the day and tell the audience what they had done. IS Media came up with “a year in the life” featuring employees in the company filmed both in the work place and in their personal lives, as individuals and groups, explaining what they had achieved at work and personally – perhaps raising money for charity or completing a marathon.
The film had the desired effect of engaging the audience as they had been part of the film, and it had an additional benefit of making the employees feel like the company cared.
Golf Monthly – Instructional Training DVDs
Golf training videos and dvds had previously been produced as full programmes, usually using one golf professional.
IS Media wanted to take advantage of menus within dvds to change the way people viewed and used golf training.
IS Media filmed several professionals detailing their own specialisms within golf training. Then these pieces were carefully edited and the dvd was authored so that the end users could pick and choose short sections featuring the area of training they were most concerned about. In effect the dvd allowed the end users to use the dvd for their own personal benefit immediately regardless of the areas of their own game they were concerned about. This has resulted in a second dvd and plans for a third.
Alma Verde – Holiday destination dvd/promotion:
Alma Verde in Portugal was a unique construction project, and at the time of filming half built. It was being built with an ecological and sustainable approach. The resort wanted a sales dvd to be used to promote the resort all over the world.
IS Media took the approach that this dvd needed to be different to the usual resort promotional dvd, and decided on a documentary or report style promotional dvd using a celebrity in empathy with this approach – Phillipa Forester.
The dvd looked at the features of the resort from a sustainable point of view and explained the benefits of these features to the audience.
As a result this dvd stands out among other holiday resort dvds.
Perfect Serve – Staff Training dvd:
S&N the client wanted to find a way to be able to train bar staff across an estate of 2000 bars/pubs, to ensure consistency of delivery of drinks across the bar.
After consultation with the client IS Media established that the average age of bar staff in the 2000 bars/pubs was 20 years of age.
IS Media believed that to get this message across clearly and effectively the material had to engage the audience at their level.
The solution was to produce a dvd in the style of “Snatch” a film aimed at the target audience, using on of the actors from the film, Alan Ford, someone we felt the audience would identify with.
The whole thing was scripted, filmed and edited in the “Snatch” style, even down to the dvd cover and text.
The dvd is still being used by S&N today.
JBP PR – Palletways CD-Rom
Palletways is the fastest growing European palletised distribution company. It wanted to come up with a solution to providing sales presentation materials to franchised sales staff all over the uk that could be tailored to suit specific types of customers, without producing lots of different versions of sales materials at great cost.
IS Media came up with the idea of an interactive CD-Rom that would enable the staff in different parts of the country with different types of customer needs to present different materials from the one, universal CD-Rom.
The staff would be able to stop and start their presentations and even decide what key features they included in it for individual customers.
The CD-Rom also offered the users to choose which languge they wanted to present in from the initial menu option.
